Harpoceras is a genus from the extinct group of ammonites, characterized by shells that are sometimes quite large but only moderately developed (evolute). It belongs to the Toarcian, a chronostratigraphic stage of the Lower Jurassic, and is the second index fossil of this stage after the genus Dactyloceras.
