Chaetocladus is a genus of fossil green algae of the order Dasycladales. These organisms lived during the Triassic period and are important microfossils in limestone deposits from this epoch.The thallus (plant body) shows euspondylar branching, the lateral branches are arranged in regular whirls, which is clearly visible on this specimen.
