Beautiful, silicified coral of the species Montlivaltia. Corals like this appeared in the Triassic, but it was only through their symbiosis with algae towards the Jurassic that corals became reef builders again. Its name is derived directly from this time interval. It inhabited shallow marine environments that once covered large parts of Europe, and its fossils have been found especially in regions that are now part of Germany, such as the Swabian Jura. Like many bivalves, Ceromya aalensis was a filter feeder that lived on or within the seafloor, obtaining its food from particles suspended in the water. The Ginkgo is one among the ‘living fossils’. Its only living representative, Ginkgo biloba, is native to China, but is used worldwide as a decorative plant.Ginkgoites huttonii is an extinct species belonging to the Ginkgoaceae family.  This genus of relatively rare, non-flowering plants first appeared in the Permian geological epoch 250 million years ago. Evolution within the genus was slow and almost all species were extinct by the end of Pliocene.The specimen shown here stems from Jurassic sediments on the North Sea coast of England. The shell is averagely evolute, with a spiral that grows more rapidly in the internal whirls. It is adorned by sturdy, clavate, simple ribs. Osperleioceras is an extinct genus of cephalopods belonging to the Hildoceratidae family. These cephalopods existed during the Jurassic period, during the Toarcian stage. Their fossils have been found in Europe and South America. Unique opportunity!Offered here is a vertebra from a sauropod. Its anatomical position is likely in the thoracic region, or more specifically, proximal and caudal (toward the tail, near the trunk).When it was discovered in 1981, Atlasaurus was initially considered a relatively primitive dinosaur. This sauropod is known from an almost complete skeleton; only a few parts of the skull and some tail vertebrae remain missing. The genus Tragophylloceras consists of relatively small forms that very rarely exceed 10 centimeters. However, because the genus exhibits dimorphism, macroforms can reach up to 22 centimeters (e.g., Tragophylloceras numismale). As a typical representative of the Phylloceratoidea, it possesses an open umbilicus. Its phragmocon is involute with N = 0.13–0.22. The growth lines are sigmoid. The ribbing is usually very indistinct and may even be entirely absent. It is particularly recognizable as low folds on the venter; on the habit chamber, it is only roughly indicated. A well-preserved vertebra from a Plesiosaurus found at a relatively rare site.Specimens from this region or from Russia in general are rarely offered for sale!As with all other plesiosaurs, the body of Plesiosaurus was adapted to life in the sea; like many other marine reptiles and mammals, the genus had limbs modified into flippers, with the front flippers of Plesiosaurus being slightly longer than the rear ones. Typical of most plesiosauroids, the neck of Plesiosaurus was also greatly elongated and consisted of 40 cervical vertebrae.
