(Lepto) Salenia sp. (approx. 1.5 cm)
Age: CretaceousLocality: MoroccoSize: ca. 1,5 cmThese small but completely preserved main bodies of a sea urchin come without spines, because they are only attached to the body with a thin layer of tissue and fall off after death. The current then separates them, but in return you can see the finest detail on the ambulacral plates and spine attachments.Photos serve as example illustrations. You will receive a specimen of comparable quality!

Heliophora orbicularis (ca. 2 cm)
Nice sea urchinAge: PlioceneLocality: Morocco Size: about 3 - 4 cmThe Westafrican Sanddollar is still alive today and has adapted to the harsh conditions at the wave base for millions of years. Its flag form is hydrodynamic and its "fingers" and spines allow it to dissipate laminare flows that would generate lift. That way they can safely search for food particles in rough waters. The picture is a sample. You will get a similar specimen.
