MERRY CHRISTMAS
This is a star-muscovite.
I hope you had a nice time, feedback for the next advent calendar is always welcome.

Today's beryl includes:
- Aquamarine ( translates to
"Water of the Sea", also called Blue Beryl, shown on the left),
- Emerald (translates to "Green", also called Green Beryl, shown on the
right),
- Gold Beryl/Heliodor,
- Pezzottaite (Raspberry Beryl),
- Rosterite,
- Vorobyevite,
- Morganite (Pink Beryl),
- Goshenite,
- Bixbit (Red Beryl).
Granted: today's piece does not have the quality, color and beauty of the pictures, but then our calendar would have been much more expensive.
More Beryl you will find here:

A few of you may be disappointed at first sight today,
but let yourself be surprised:
Dip this stone in water, wet it and you will discover beautiful pink spots and be happy about it! That's eudialyte (not garnet, as it is written in some places) in magmatic syenite as a bedrock. This rock is supposed to strengthen the personality, give joy and let you enjoy life more consciously. Well, I think that matches so I wish you all a good start into the week before Christmas with this stone!

Today there was a 'spar' mineral as well: the calcite. 'Spar' is an old name used by miners, which meant an easily cleavable mineral. You can try this with a geologist's hammer. Calcite can be split easily and then has very smooth, shiny surfaces.
14.12.2022
Today you can find the mineral DOLOMITE in the calendar's 'little door'- as beautiful small pink crystals with the typical clear 'spatic' structure- (this will soon be explained in door 16). Dolomite occurs as a mineral and as a rock.
Being mainly composed of dolomite, the Italian Dolomites were given their name.
Storage ideas
Since I get a few requests for what is suitable to store the stones after Christmas, here’s a small advertising block ;-)
There are several possibilities (according to this order below left):
-> made of paper:
+ exactly fitting, which can be labeled and is dust-proof (with and without lid of the boxes inside)
-> made of plastic:
+ assortment box clear, simple (relatively large, but can be filled with cotton wool or foam)
+ assortment box consisting of two parts with additional space in this variant for four pieces found by yourself. Lower part blue with transparent cover & inner part white
+ plastic assortment box with aluminum frame and with hangers on the back, to lay or to hang up
+ opaque plastic assortment box
elements are removable, so you can expand the compartments (unfortunately a discontinued article, i.e. sale only while stocks last)
+ showcase (beautiful, but quite delicate surface).

HAFTIME
Attention tomorrow: look carefully -
on day 13 we have a pitch black stone which stains whatever it touches, so if you touch it
be ready to have black fingers. We'll tell you this much: it's not coal. It does not bring bad luck either, because this rock is said to protect from electric radiation,
so it's quite modern!

Today is the day of the Labradorite. Maybe it made some of you smile when opening the calendar today - while some others might be a little disappointed by the greyish stone. But there’s more to it, no matter how big or small the stone is. Please take the Labradorite out and turn it into the light (it shouldn’t be too bright). I inspected every stone and only put in those, that really have the typical colourful reflective spots. All of you should be able to make out those glittering pieces in the stone. Sometimes you can’t see them immediately - try different angles and different lights and don’t be disappointed if you don’t spot them rightaway! I hope you have a day with small and beautiful surprises just like this stone shows us.

A happy second advent!
So
far we've had the mineral: Aventurine, the crystal: Aegirine and the fossil:
Shark - Tooth.
Today we're adding a rock to the calendar. Rocks are divided into sedimentary
rocks, magmatides and metamorphites
Sedimentary rocks (for example sandstone or limestone) are formed on earths surface, magmatic rocks are formed inside the earth through solidifying magma (e.g. granite) or on earths surface through magma that leaked through and then turns to lava. When magma leaks through and undergoes rapid cooling it can lead to the creation of so called rock glass = obsidian. Some kids/teens might be familiar with this rock glass from Minecraft (regarding the video game, we also have a matching collection including all the rocks ☺️).
Metamorphic rocks are rocks that go through the process of orogeny where they go through pressure and temperature to recrystallize. This for example is how a granite turns into a gneiss. The mineral composition of gneiss is, like many metamorphic rocks, indepent of the starting rock.
Note!
If there is a problem with the calendar, please mail me: Haasler@krantz-online.de - we will find a solution!2.12.2022
Yesterday a mineral,

now have a nice start in the weekend.

Finally the time has come!
Today we start with the Aventurine.
This stone
comes in different colors: green, yellow, orange, brown, grayish and like here
in blue.
It is believed that this stone helps to let go of worries and to strengthen the
immune system, therefore it fits well as a stone to start this calendar and in
this time. Even if this is a variety of
quartz which has been known for a long time, and which belongs to the group of
the most prevalent minerals on earth.
I was approached by several customers if I could none the less offer a 'paper storage solution' for the stones. Tipp: you can buy a collection set, which contains 10 small boxes (3x4,5cm), 10 bigger ones (4,5x6cm) and 4 square boxes (6x6cm). All this with an outer carton, including lid (21x29cm).
Depending on whether you want them with lids or without, this packaging will cost 7€ or 13€ for the subsequent collection. Please note that this time the stones and boxes in the cardboard box will probably have to be stacked, because they are all a bit bigger. Or you can choose to buy an outer carton twice as big.
You are also welcome to put it together yourself:

It's almost time!

You or your giftee may soon open the first door of the Advent calendar!
I really hope that in the first door you will find the stones I have put there. As I learned from three customers, some packages were mishandled so badly that the stones were no longer in place. If this also happened to your calendar, please contact me! We will find a solution, I do not want to take away your Advent joy. Please write to me: Haasler@krantz-online.de
As an extra service, I will every now and then offer some more additional material on our Instagram @dr.f.krantz and here on the page.
The following days in particular, this will be more detailed:
on Thursday, the 1.12.2022 (to the calendar in general)
on Friday, the 9.12.2022 (about the stone itself)
on Friday, the 16.12.2022 (working with stones, splitting)
on Monday, the 19.12.2022 (about the stone itself)
