Soft tissue preservation of the mantle of Teudopsis subcosta, a primitive jurassic vampire squid, on oil shale.

Size: Fossil: 12.5 cm (5 in); slab: 25 x 15 x 2.5 cm (10 x 5.9 x 1 in)
Age: Lower Jurassic, Lias Epsilon
Locality: Holzmaden, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

The slab is slightly cracked and has been professionally glued (see photo).
There is a hole on the back of the slab, handy when hanging it up.

The colours on the pictures may differ slightly from the original specimen.
