The collections are divided into igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks and within these groups are arranged according to modern systematics. Among others, the following rocks are included in this collection: Granites, syenites, plagioclase, mafites, rhyolites, trachytes, basalts, selbergites, tephrites, psephites, psammites, pelites, chemical and organic rocks such as dolomite, anhydrite and limestones, as well as metamorphic rocks such as marble, gneiss and mica schist.The hand specimens are labeled with the exact name, age and locality. A film is placed over each label to prevent scratching. The rocks are numbered so that they can be easily identified again if one is misplaced. The pieces in the collection are supplied in system-bloc collection boxes, which are arranged in sequence in a wooden case. They are numbered and provided with adhesive labels, which give the exact description as well as the age and the place of discovery. They are delivered in a grooved thin-section case.
