100 Rocks
Handpiece: 60 x 90 mm
wooden case not included
Particularly contrasting rocks from worldwide sites were chosen impressively demonstrating the diversity of formation in the metamorphic, sedimentary and igneous domains: 46 igneous, 34 sedimentary and 20 metamorphic rocks. (Minor changes possible!) Our range of systematic rock collections offers small to large teaching collections covering all levels, so the foundation for petrographic beginners as well as advanced classes can be easily met.
The collections are divided into igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks and are arranged within these groups according to modern systematics. The hand specimens are numbered and have labels indicating the exact name and place of discovery. They are supplied in system-bloc collection boxes.
A detailed contents list with locality and exact name is included with each collection, there are stones included, like:
stones from Igneous Rocks, such as plutonic rocks (f.e. Pegmatite, Biotite Granite, Muscovite Granite, Rapakiwi Granit, Luxullianite, Granodioriote, Diorites, Syenites, Monzonites, Plagioclase Rocks, like Gabbro, Foid Rocks, Ultramafic rocks) and
of course Volcanic Rocks (f.e. Rhyolites, like Obsidian, Dacites, Trachytes, Latites, Basaltes, Phonolotes, Selbergites, Tephrites, Basanites, Foides and Pyroclatites)
Also you’ll find Sedimentary Rock thin sections from Clastic Rocks (f.e. Psephites, Psammites, Pelites),
Chemical Sedimentary Rocks (Precipitate Rocks, like Travertine & Dolomite and Saline Deposits, like Anhydrite) and
Organic Deposits (f.e. Limestones, Siliceous Rocks, Phosphates and Coals)
And also there are metamorphic rock thin sections:
Thermal Metamorphism (f.e. Burnt clay, Chiastolite schist),
Regional Metamorphism (f.e. Gneisses, Granulites, Micaschists, Phyllites)
