Space Lattices - Collection

Product information "Space Lattices - Collection"

14 Translation lattices according to BRAVAIS.

Minerals are homogeneous substances with a specific chemical composition.
Their molecular or atomic building blocks are arranged in a very specific,
systematically repeating pattern.
They form a three-dimensional lattice on which both the crystal structure of the
mineral and its physical properties depend.

This can be demonstrated by lattice models, where the atoms or molecules are
represented by wooden spheres and the distances by metal rods, at a linear
magnification of 250 million times.
The models are frequently used, especially in chemistry and physics lessons.

Handcrafted in Germany.

Collection: 15 natural crystals

15 natural crystalsin compartmented collection boxThe collection contains 4 cubic, 2 hexagonal, 2 tetragonal, 2 rhombic, 4 monoclinic, and one triclinic crystals and provide an easy introduction to the complicated laws of crystallography. The interpendence between physical, chemical, and crystallographic properties can be demonstrated on the natural crystal. Our collection contains all relevant information such as the MILLER indices of the most important crystal faces. All specimens are numbered according to a check list and provided with individual labels. The collection is housed in a compartmented collection box.
