LED UV module for the Chameleon Multiwave flashlight.
Mineralogy can use this wavelength to examine specific properties.
For example, certain amino acids absorb strongly at 275 nm (UV absorption spectroscopy).
This analysis can indirectly help identify minerals that contain such substances or
are contaminated by them.
Calcite can glow blue at a wavelength of 275 nm, for example, but most minerals show
stronger fluorescence at values of 315-400 nm (UV-A radiation).
