Sternberg rock, also known as Sternberg Kuchen, is a sandstone that was deposited in a warm tropical sea during the Palaeogene.
Numerous fossil remains, such as shells and casings, were deposited in this rock. Storm surges and tidal currents deposited the remains in layers between fossiliferous sand.

Locality: Sternberg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany
Size: approx. 16 x 6 x 6,5 cm
