In collections and museums, fossil vertebrates are usually represented by individual bone finds only, in rare cases by complete skeletons. Many attempts have been made to give the observer a better idea of the appearance of fossil animals through reconstructions. However, most of them fail to meet either scientific or artistic standards.
That is why the well-known animal sculptor Josef Pallenberg (1882-1946) took on the task of creating sculptural reconstructions that really convey a vivid impression of prehistoric animals.
Because his work was carried out with the advisory support of renowned vertebrate palaeontologists and with the most careful observation of the animals' anatomical structure and lifestyle, his sculptures are among the best of their kind in existence. The groups made up of several individuals are particularly impressive.
The size ratio of 1:10 is maintained throughout.
Casts are handmade and colored in-house.
Therefore, photos may differ slightly in color from the delivered piece.
