Product information "Paranthropus robustus, TM1517 (Cast)"
Holotype.
[Australopithecus robustus crassidens]
Fragments of a skull (TM1517 a) and the lower jaw (TM1517 b).
Australopithecines represent an early form of hominid appearance with primitive features: a protruding face with a receding forehead, large teeth (spatulate incisors, remarkable canines) and a usually upright posture.
Although the skull is still very ape-like, the rest of the body structure is already more like that of modern humans.
Age: Old Pleistocene;
Locality: Kromdraai, South Africa
Our casts are made in-house from casting wood and colored by hand. For this reason, color deviations between photos and the original piece are possible.
