Fossil vertebrates in collections and museums are usually represented by single bone finds, only in rare cases by complete skeletons. Many attempts have been made to give the viewer a better idea of the appearance of fossil animals through reconstructions. However, most of them are not able to meet either the scientific or the artistic requirements.
Therefore, the well-known animal sculptor Josef Pallenberg (1882-1946) set himself the task of creating plastic reconstructions that really convey a vivid idea of prehistoric animals.
Sincehis work was carried out with the advisory support of renowned vertebrate paleontologists under the most careful observation of the animal's anatomical structure and living posture, his sculptures are among the best of their kind. Particularly impressive are groupings assembled from several individuals.
The size ratio of 1:10 is maintained throughout.
The casts are handmade and colored in our company.
