Geiger-Counter: GAMMA - SCOUT

Product information "Geiger-Counter: GAMMA - SCOUT"

GAMMA-SCOUT® continuously measures and records radioactive radiation in our
environment. The result can be displayed in micro-sieverts, becquerels (Bq), or as
a pulse count.

Every GAMMA-SCOUT® device undergoes a final inspection supervised by the Institute
for Radiation Protection at a state technical college. The test units must be within a
5% confidence interval of a master unit, which in turn has been calibrated against a
calibrated Cs-137 source.

Measures: 163 x 72 x 30 mm (L/W/H)
Weight: approx. 150 g

Features and specifications of GAMMA-SCOUT®:

  • measures α, β, and γ radiation
  • certified calibration
  • data storage
  • PC connectivity available—data analysis via Windows and macOS X
  • patented power-saving technology
  • can be used anywhere
  • can also be used as a dosimeter (cumulative radiation)
  • LCD display, 4-digit, numeric with labels, analog bar graphs, can show
    readings in sieverts or REM
  • in measurement mode, display shows the current radiation value every 2 seconds
and shows the average value H from the previous day briefly (0:00 to 23:59)
  • according to its calibration, the instrument reliably measures from 0.01 to 1,000
    microsieverts per hour
  • Source isotope other than Cs-137: The conversion of pulses per unit time to
dose rate is based on Cs-137. If other isotopes are present, you can display pulses
per unit time directly and convert them using your own tables
  • monitors radiation day and night and stores the values for later retrieval.
Thanks to sophisticated, patented electronics, the battery lasts for years.
  • GAMMA-SCOUT® stores the number of registered pulses in its internal memory
and keeps them there for you. 32,000 measured values.
  • For continuous monitoring, the storage of environmental values is set to one
value per week, which would result in 600 years of storage capacity.
The user can select shorter monitoring intervals. In that case, the memory
will fill up more quickly (see manual for delete option)
  • Certification: GAMMA-SCOUT® complies with the European CE standard as well
as the U.S. FCC-15 standard and is also permitted to be carried on airplanes.

Radiation meter “Gamma-Scout Alert”

GAMMA-SCOUT Alert includes all the features of the standard model. An upgrade version with a limit alert and a ticker for audible notification when radiation is detected. The user can set a threshold value within specified limits; if this threshold is exceeded, the Geiger counter emits an audible warning tone and displays a warning signal.GAMMA - SCOUT® continuously measures and records radiation levels in our environment. The results can be displayed in micro-sieverts, becquerels (Bq), or as pulse count readings. A system of shutters allows for the isolated measurement of alpha, beta, or gamma radiation.Measurements: 163 x 72 x 30 mm (L/W/H)Weight: approx. 150 gGAMMA-SCOUT® Alert features:can be used anywhereLCD display, 4-digit, numeric with labels, analog bar graphs; the display can show readings in sieverts or REM.easy measurement:In measurement mode, the display shows the current radiation level every 2 seconds and briefly displays the average value H for the previous day (0:00 to 24:00).radiation detector:End-window Geiger-Müller counter; measurement length 38.1 mm; measurement diameter 9.1 mm.wide measuring range:When properly calibrated, the GAMMA-SCOUT® provides reliable measurements over a wide range (0.01 to 1,000 microsieverts per hour).verified calibration:Every GAMMA-SCOUT® measuring device undergoes a final inspection supervised by the Institute for Radiation Protection at a state technical college. The test specimens must fall within a 5% confidence interval relative to a master, which in turn has been calibrated against a calibrated Cs-137 source.source isotope other than Cs-137:The conversion of pulses per unit time to dose rate is based on Cs-137.
