Amber is fossilized tree sap, and since every tree species produces its own kind of sap, every locality has amber with different chemical properties. The origin of Baltic amber is still a mystery, as even the large deposits in Kaliningrad are secondary deposits.
Be careful to store your amber were sunlight cannot reach it.
