Amber with inclusions in magnifier box
A classified insect (e.g. beetle, spider, ant, mosquito, fly), enclosed in amber from the Eocene of the Baltic (approx. 50 million years old).
Packed in a magnifying lid box - a real surprise package!
Amber is fossilized tree resin. As each tree species produces different resins, each amber locality is different. The origin of Baltic amber is still a mystery, as even the large sites in Kaliningrad are relocations.
Make sure that your amber is not exposed to the sun, as this can degrade the material over time.
Age: Eocene
Locality: Baltic States
Size: approx. 1.5 cm in magnifying lid box
The colors in the pictures may differ slightly from the original due to technical reasons.
